Celebrate Christmas with one of James Halliday’s Top 100 Wines
Mr. Halliday has been at it again, he just released his comprehensive
top 100 wines list of Australian Wines. There was a focus on West
Australian wines this time around and so we thought we would give you a
couple of suggestions to help you stock up over this Christmas Season.
Are you looking for something special and to put away for another day?
Along with Mr. Halliday, we would like to recommend splurging on the Cullen Diana Madeline Cabernet Merlot 2013. This stellar wine can be stored cellared for a while as its recommendation is to drink by 2043.
Cullen winery is fascinating as all of their wines are grown and certified as biodynamic and their winery is carbon neutral which means you can drink it knowing you are actually helping out the environment.
This Cullen gem is priced at $115 and we think it is worth every cent
Are you looking for the perfect gift?
Look no further, here is another stand out from the world famous Xanadu wines
Winning not only James Halliday’s hearth but best wine at Cabernet 2015 at the Sydney Royal Wine Show this little treasure is excellent value at the $30 price point.
This is a great gift option as its not expensive but tastes expensive and shows off your wine knowledge.
Looking for something white?
With Vasse Felix winning The West Australian 2016 Winery of the Year & White Wine of the Year, their wines were bound to be on the top of anybody’s list and our dear friend Mr. Halliday has done just that.
Mr. Halliday has recommended we go out and purchase a couple of bottles of their Heytesbury Chardonnay 2014.
With a price point of around about $75 and a rating of 97 points, I would suggest you pop out and do just that.
And finally we want to recommend something that will go perfectly with your Christmas seafood platter
Imagine your warm day, sitting in the sun with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Semillon in one hand and a juicy prawn in the other. Our recommendation of wines of Halliday’s list would be a beautiful bottle of Watershed Premium Shades 2014 Savignon Blanc Semillon. This beautiful wine is not only under $20 a bottle but tastes like it should be over $40.
We here Winex Storage would like to wish you a very Happy Holiday and look forward to whatever 2016 will bring us.
